Anima (1988)
for xilomarimba, bass marimba bassa and big drum
The overwhelming cadence of mysterious sounds from the xylophone and of dark sounds from the bass drum require both the strength and light-handed touch of a butterfly from the musicians who play them. This piece was inspired by the writer Enrico Filippini’s memoirs who died in 1988 a month before Anima was written.
